Shared Purpose and Direction

On a high-performing team, everyone on the team is committed to the team's purpose. They know exactly what that purpose is because the team leader keeps them focused by constantly communicating that purpose in team meetings and regular updates. The team leader helps each individual team member meet his or new own needs while serving the overall purpose of the team.

Motivating Goals

The team leader ensures that everyone on the team has clearly defined goals and targets. In some organizations, the strategic goals and departmental objectives are determined by senior management. On low-performing teams, team members have to constantly get approval before taking action, significantly reducing their effectiveness and negatively affecting their sense of engagement on the team.

Reliance on Diverse Talents

Savvy team leaders pay attention to helping team members understand their unique strengths, talents, and weaknesses. No individual team member can be good at everything. The best team leaders assist everyone to develop an appreciation for individual style differences, natural gifts, and personal experience. Teams are encouraged to use the language of acceptance and appreciation, rather than criticism and judgment. Team leaders consciously hire team members who bring complementary skill sets, unique experience, and diverse perspectives.

Mutual Support and Trust

The seventh characteristic may be the most important, and frankly, is probably the most elusive. The team leader can't force a team to be supportive and trusting--it's a natural result of shared responsibility, shared success, and mutual respect. The high-performing team achieves mutual support and trust because they have a history of working together to achieve grand dreams and results. They have met challenges, overcome obstacles, backed each other up in good times and bad. The Total Team has earned each other's trust.

Building a high-performing team is not an easy task. However, if you're a team leader that is up to the challenge, then consciously focus on developing these seven characteristics. Nintendo 1.4.1 Update Fixes for DS Flash Cards

DS flash cards have been around since 2008, when the original R4 DS was released for the Nintendo DS and DS Lite consoles. Since then, a multitude of applications has swarmed over these cards in a race to see what fantastic uses can be had for them. Nintendo handheld consoles can now be used as MP3 players, video players, PDF readers, eBook readers and much more. Thanks to a growing homebrew population, there are also many programs now freely available for the DS that allow us to do many things traditional Nintendo games don't - and some that even let us (over a WiFi connection admittedly) use the Nintendo DS like a video phone!

However, the latest update, named 1.4.1U in the United States, 1.4.1E in Europe, and in certain areas of Asia 1.4.2, has rendered nearly all DS flash cards on the DSi and DSi XL consoles unable to function. Users are advised not to update their firmware on their DSi console unless they are completely sure that their card is verified to be compatible with the newest firmware. Nintendo claim that the newest update improves many of the Nintendo DSi's back-end functions but there has been no visible proof of this, which leads to the sad conclusion that the main purpose of this update was to block DS flash cards, which have served Nintendo's homebrew community well and are allowing the console to thrive.

Many manufacturers have now come out with fixes to the 1.4.1 firmware update problem, however. The first DS flash card to respond to the issue was the Acekard 2i, which has since patched its firmware to allow compatibility. The EZFlash Vi DS flash card was next to follow, claiming to be one of the few cards that the update did not affect and it seems that they were right. Finally, the M3i Zero has also released a fix for the 1.4.1 update, allowing it to continue operating as normal. Lately, as of late October, the iEDGE team have also stated they are working on a compatibility fix that will allow gamers and homebrew users to use their card with the DSi update, and that it should arrive within the next two to three weeks.

DS flash cards that are purchased from reputable vendors that stock genuine DS flash cards are likely to come pre-flashed and users would not need to flash their own cards (which can sometimes be dangerous). ~ Interesting story line - Follow "Swampy" as he battles thieving alligators, monstrous algae, corrosive acid and a variety of other obstacles. Colorful animations and a cast of characters makes you want to finish the next level to see what happens next.

~ Great value - I've played the game for well over twenty hours now and I only paid .99. Excellent value for the cost.

Cons

~ Blobby water - Sometimes the water looks quite "blobby" if you manage to isolate some water from the main flow.

~ Scroll bar can be difficult to master - If the level is bigger than the screen (which it often is) a scroll bar appears to scroll from top to bottom. I've found that at times (especially during hectic moments in the game) It would be a lot easier if I could scroll with my finger or tilt the phone instead of having to use the scroll bar.
